This page sets out NewsThreads247’s own ethics and independence standards. It does not represent membership, endorsement or certification by the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) or any other trade body. We previously used “DNPA Code of Ethics” as this page’s title; the policy below explains our publication’s standards directly.
Accuracy and context
We aim to base consequential claims on traceable evidence, identify the relevant date and jurisdiction, and separate verified information from interpretation or uncertain reports. Significant updates should not be silently rewritten to imply that an old event has just happened.
Originality and attribution
We do not present copied articles, unattributed media, invented interviews or AI-generated details as original reporting. When we quote or build upon an outside source, we identify the source and comply with applicable usage restrictions.
Independence and commercial interests
Commercial partnerships, referral arrangements and gifts should not decide factual conclusions. Sponsored or affiliate material should be disclosed where relevant, and editorial articles should distinguish recommendations from paid promotions.
Fairness and sensitive reporting
We aim for respectful, proportionate coverage, especially when discussing personal allegations, children, crime, health, financial hardship or potentially harmful claims. A headline should not promise certainty that the evidence does not support.
Illustrations, photographs and privacy
Images should accurately communicate their nature and provenance. Illustrations or AI-generated scenes should not be confused with documentary photographs. We avoid unnecessary exposure of private contact details and other sensitive personal information.
Corrections and accountability
Readers can report an error or concern to contact@newsthreads247.com, preferably with a link and supporting evidence. We review material errors and make corrections in line with our Correction Policy. See also our Editorial Guidelines.
