Goodreturns’ displayed Mumbai history lists 24K at ₹13,964 per gram on 3 November and ₹13,965 on 4 November, and 22K at ₹12,800 and ₹12,801 respectively. Why an IBJA morning rate is not quoted here

The India Bullion and Jewellers Association issues separate AM/PM bullion benchmarks, generally after office opening on working days. These are different from indicative retail jewellery prices. This early-morning report does not claim a new 4 November IBJA AM benchmark or mix IBJA, futures and retail prices.

What to check before buying gold today

A 10-gram 22K piece in Mumbai has a Goodreturns indicative metal component of ₹1,28,010, but that is not a final invoice amount. Ask the jeweller for the current selling rate, net metal weight, purity, making charge, GST, gemstone charges and buyback terms. Compare the total payable for equivalent products rather than just the rate per gram.

For hallmarked jewellery, verify the BIS hallmark, purity and six-character HUID where applicable, and retain an itemised invoice. Read our hallmark and HUID buyer guide and the Bureau of Indian Standards guidance.

What can affect Indian gold quotations?

International bullion movements, rupee exchange rates, duties and local demand can influence Indian quotations, but no specific cause has been established for this provider’s ₹1-per-gram change. Different publishers may use different price-setting and update methods, so a comparison must keep the provider, purity, unit and timestamp consistent.
