Today’s gold rates in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Lucknow
Use the row for the city and purity you are comparing. Every figure in this table comes from the same publisher’s 5 November city page. Rates from different cities or jewellers should not be treated as interchangeable.
| City | 24K / 1g | 22K / 1g | 18K / 1g |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mumbai | ₹14,602 | ₹13,385 | ₹10,952 |
| Delhi | ₹14,617 | ₹13,400 | ₹10,967 |
| Chennai | ₹14,602 | ₹13,385 | ₹10,955 |

What 10 grams costs before the extra charges
| City | 24K / 10g | 22K / 10g | 18K / 10g |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mumbai | ₹1,46,020 | ₹1,33,850 | ₹1,09,520 |
| Delhi | ₹1,46,170 | ₹1,34,000 | ₹1,09,670 |
| Chennai | ₹1,46,020 | ₹1,33,850 | ₹1,09,550 |
| Lucknow | ₹1,46,170 | ₹1,34,000 | ₹1,09,670 |
Each 10-gram value is ten times the listed per-gram price. For an eight-gram 22K item in Mumbai, the indicative metal component is ₹13,385 × 8 = ₹1,07,080. An ornament with stones is not necessarily all gold: ask for its net gold weight.
What changed from 4 November?
GoodReturns’ dated Mumbai history now lists 4 November at ₹14,280/g (24K) and ₹13,090/g (22K), versus the updated 5 November entries of ₹14,602/g and ₹13,385/g. That is a same-provider increase of ₹322/g for 24K and ₹295/g for 22K, or ₹3,220 and ₹2,950 per 10g. Correction: the earlier report compared a preliminary ₹1/g increase; it has been superseded following the provider’s revised 5 November quotations. These are revisions to an indicative retail series, not an IBJA benchmark or a market-wide transaction price.
For an independent check, Groww’s 5 November national board now displays ₹14,602/g (24K), ₹13,385/g (22K) and ₹10,952/g (18K). The national and city series should not be assumed to have identical historical methodology, and their historical rows have not been mixed in our Day panel.
Gold history: switch between Day, Month and Year
All chart units are ₹ per 10 grams. Day uses GoodReturns Mumbai indicative retail 24K/22K. Month and Year use separately attributed RBI-derived Mumbai standard-gold bullion averages, with fineness of 995 parts per thousand and above. Different purities, time averaging and pricing methods mean their levels should not be compared directly. Open a period below; each graph has a numerical table.

A retail indication is not an IBJA benchmark
The India Bullion and Jewellers Association publishes a separate AM/PM bullion benchmark. It is not the same thing as a city retail indication or a finished-jewellery shop quote. This report does not claim a new 5 November IBJA morning fix, use futures as jewellery prices, or average these different series.
Retail publisher boards are not identical to jewellers’ final selling prices. A seller’s current quoted metal rate, purity, making charges, taxes, weight and buyback terms determine the actual bill. Tanishq’s own rate page may be consulted separately; its quotation should not be treated as interchangeable with GoodReturns’ indicative city rates.

Before buying: compare the full bill
Ask for an itemised quote showing the seller’s current per-gram rate, purity, net gold weight, making or value-addition charges, stones, applicable taxes and total payable. Check whether making charges are a percentage or a fixed rupee amount and what base that percentage uses. A lower quoted metal rate can be outweighed by another charge.
For example, two shops can use the same indicative ₹1,33,850 metal component for 10g of 22K gold while quoting different making charges. Compare the final totals and buyback deductions for equivalent weight and purity; the indicative rate alone does not determine the invoice.
For jewellery covered by mandatory hallmarking, check the purity and HUID under current BIS rules and retain the invoice. Our hallmark, HUID and invoice guide explains the checks. The Bureau of Indian Standards is the authority for current requirements and exemptions.
Sources, limitations and corrections
This report uses the linked dated retail boards and independently labelled historical datasets. Material correction on 5 November: a fresh source check at approximately 12:30 PM IST found that GoodReturns and Groww had revised the 5 November prices materially since the 9:23 AM source snapshot. The article’s displayed city rates, calculations, daily comparison and Day panel were updated without changing the prior day’s published report. No jeweller interview, product test, IBJA price substitution or price forecast is implied.
The illustrations are AI-generated and conceptual; they contain no actual price board, certified product, hallmark or transaction record. Source pages can revise their history. A material error found in this report will be corrected with a note. Yesterday’s report retains its own morning snapshot; it is not a live price feed.
